This is the most awesome thing that I've gotten in a while. In a scrapping rut? I'm just starting to read the book but it is so cool! Check it out: Brainiac Scrapbooking. If you decide to join, please feel free to use me as a referral--Jill Felker. ;-)
I did it. I finally went to Cingular today.
I upgraded my plan (somewhat) AND I got a new phone. A black Razr. John's so jealous--he had a silver Razr and wants a black one. HA! He said, "we can trade" and I said, "I don't think so!"
SUCKS!
Ah, I feel better now, LOL! Today we took a ton of things over to the apartment--and the piece-of-shit U-Haul leaked oil ALL OVER the driveway. It's AWFUL! That is the WORST rental truck that I've EVER seen. I think it's about to fall apart into a gazillion pieces. Unbelievable.
The apartment now has a television (woohoo--I got a HDTV one!), tables, grandfather clock, my bed (thank God) and a ton of scrapping stuff. They're moving a recliner over and a floor lamp. Still need other lamps and light fixtures.
We've also decided that, once I get ready to move to Springfield, that we're having Underfanger come back and move everything out. I'm not doing this again and John isn't, either. Did I mention that it SUCKS???????????????????????????????????
On a sad note, Reilly went to The Bridge today.
How beautiful was he? Sleep well, Reilly--my Lexie will be among those greeting you at The Bridge.
as an update--I have figured out a LOT of what we're taking to the apartment. Tomorrow we're renting a truck and hauling stuff over--bed, tv, etc. Can't wait to see how the moving of the tv goes. We're taking the 250# HDTV from here in the basement.
I've also started packing up stuff in my sb room. I want to try to take the majority of my papers and things to the apartment. THIS should be interesting! (roll eyes) I can move the lighter stuff, though, as long as the guys will carry all the paper. It is definitely going to be interesting.
Now we're into the new year's countdown. I, however, am terribly, horribly overwhelmed. Why? The packing. The house is a mess. A DISASTER. I don't even know where to start. It's a MESS. I went over to the apartment a few minutes ago to do some measuring. I have to figure out what I'm going to move there and what I'm NOT going to move there. Walls aren't big enough. I think my problem is that I'm majorly overwhelmed with all of it and I just don't know where to start. I did go thru all my VHS videos and just ordered a bunch of DVD's to replace them.
And Timothy is sick. He has a bad ear infection.
Tis the season. :-\
It's Christmas Day. And I'm....GASP!!!....BORED. It's not like I have nothing to do. I just don't WANT to do anything. Geesh.
My stash:
John upsized my necklace from last year. It's now a half carat rather than a quarter. He said that it would cost him $1000 to upsize next year so it ain't gonna happen. Hmph. <G> He got me some Bath & Body Works stuff in Cherry Blossom. Two "Golden Girls" videos--Seasons 1 and 2. And two books.
I got John a belt, two pairs of pajama bottoms, a wallet and his Razr sunglasses that he wanted. John got me a Waterford porcelain train (from Timothy) for Christmas. Timothy got Rokenbok stuff, dinosaur stuff, planes.
The family was here. Timothy got Star Wars stuff from Mattie, a very scary, creepy Raptor that's remote-controlled, Magnetix stuff. I got my usual Archambeault calendar. We got checks from both sets of parents.
Life is good! (Especially if it's thru the eyes of Trixie Koontz, LOL!)
Christmas Prayer
Help us remember the birth of Jesus, that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the shepherds, and worship of the wise men.
Close the door of hate and open the door of love all over the world. Let kindness come with every gift and good desires with every greeting. Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with clear hearts.
May the Christmas morning make us happy to be Thy children, and Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake. Amen.
Ah, life is good. For the most part. All of my packages are wrapped, although Santa has to wrap some still. Christmas cards still aren't done but postage doesn't go up until the 8th of January so I'm good to go for a while. I got a delightful Christmas letter from Diahan today. I love her Christmas letters!
This afternoon I didn't feel well at all. I have a cold and then managed to have an upset stomach. At least it was after the present wrapping marathon! John and Steve went shopping at the mall (after they took the organ to Frankfort). Once they got home, we took a load of stuff over to the apartment. I have some wire Target cubes put together for Timothy's toys in his playroom. We took that and it fits nicely in his walk-in closet. I'm glad that I decided to let him have the larger bedroom. He has the walk-in closet where we can store his toys as well as his clothes. He's going to have to have his computer in there along with his television, vcr, etc. I think that he's going to love it.
After the apartment run, we went to Liquor Barn. I wanted Bailey's and we got artichokes and cheese and crackers for my artichoke dip. YUM! Even found low-sodium things for my mom. Who, BTW, is CRANKY! Have I mentioned that she's also CRABBY????
Tonight we FINALLY made cookies. We have chocolate chip, bourbon balls and the Springerles are ready to bake in the morning. The rum cake is made sans glaze and the sweet potato casserole is ready to roll. We're GOOD! Now if John would just wrap his presents, we'd be all done.
Tomorrow at 3:00 is the big day. We told my family to be here then to exchange presents. John's dad and Liz will be coming at 4. They gave us our presents today and I don't have a thing for them aside from a picture frame with a picture of Timothy. I did, however, send them a plant from Harry & David so they're good to go.
So, to anyone reading, Merry Christmas and I wish you God's blessings upon you and your family in 2006!!!
I got some presents for Timothy wrapped last night. I just hope that I can FIND everything that I bought. Yikes! The kid is a major snoop and he knew where I'd been hiding them. So I've been leaving them in the boxes they came in and stuffing them in different closets. HA! Problem is, I don't know where one thing for John is. And it was pricey. ARGH!!!!! Anyone seen it????? (Doh!)
Got up early this morning and headed to the grocery. Nothing like waiting until LAST NIGHT to make up the dinner menu! The grocery, at 8am, was already fairly crowded. One man walked past me in the parking lot and said that he wished that he could get HIS wife to get out early. And that the parking lot had been packed last night. Not a huge surprise.
So, HO HO HO! Gotta get ready for tomorrow.
(hey, I made a rhyme--aren't I clever? LOL!)
I'm starting to seriously panic! I have NOTHING wrapped for
Christmas. NOTHING! I don't even know where everything is. OMG. It's going to be a frigging disaster. I have to go to the grocery first thing in the morning--trying to beat the crowds. I hope that I have enough for stocking stuffers. At least for John. I know that I do for Timothy. Tomorrow I have to wrap presents. Make cookies. Grocery shop. Clean house (although I got a lot of the first floor done today). Guess there won't be much packing going on!!!! And CHURCH! Can't forget about CHURCH!
